Fuji Xerox Hong Kong was certified for the ISO 14001 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and the Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) in December 2003 and upgraded to the latest 2004 version in July 2005. We have been continually taking efforts in putting the environmental concepts "4Rs", namely, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Replace into a wide range of practices and activities to improve the environment. |

Over the past few years, the company has been successful in reducing the consumption of electricity, gasoline, and paper. We have been actively sharing best practices with our contractors or suppliers or even our customers. Besides enhancing the environmental features of our products, we have added a category of environmental consideration on top of our traditional evaluation criteria (quality, cost, etc) when we do procurement from our contractors or suppliers. |
 |
Besides, Fuji Xerox Hong Kong has implemented a number of waste reduction programs, and was awarded the Gold Wastewi$e Logo by the Environmental Protection Department in May 2005.
|
We have taken the initiative to sign the Clean Air Charter, commitments to support and implement the project Clean Air on a voluntary basis. The company recognises the importance of supporting the development of a fair, practical, and cost-effective air quality management policy, despite the fact that improving air quality will require reductions in emissions in the business community, and many of these reductions will result in additional business capitals and/or operating costs. |

| In order to control the significant environmental aspects, we have developed objectives and targets on continually improving our environmental performance. In the Financial Year (FY) 2007, we have achieved 10% less on overall electricity and gasoline consumption (Actual consumptions are 1948K KWh and 43K Liters respectively) compared with the projection at the start of year, in terms of preventing to discharge around 280 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. In FY 2008, we are dedicated to achieve actual reduction through more green measures on utilising energy-saving light tubes and systems.
Moreover, Green Purchasing is one of our key environmental initiatives. We keep on exploring more green items for our daily operation including recycled paper towels and eco-friendly papers. And now we have started to use recycled toilet rolls and are sourcing more environmental-friendly detergents.
In December 2007, we have been certified with FSC CoC (Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody) so as to demonstrates to customers, stakeholders and investors our support to responsible forest management and promotes paper products from environmentally appropriate and socially beneficial management of forest.
We are committed to the environment conservation and to the health and safety of its employees, customers, and partners. The company has received several environmental awards, and is a pioneer in formulating environmental conservation policies. |
